Prevention for optimal health

Even without a specific injury or condition, routine physiotherapy allows for early detection and treatment, helping to reduce the risk of future injuries or illnesses and keeping your animal in peak condition.

Electrotherapies

PEMF Therapy:

A non-invasive, non-thermal treatment that uses low-level electromagnetic pulses to heal damaged tissue, reduce pain, and promote relaxation. It enhances blood flow and anti-inflammatory responses, making it effective for conditions like bone fractures and osteoarthritis (OA).

K-Laser Therapy

Uses infrared light to accelerate healing, reduce inflammation, and relieve pain. This non-invasive treatment stimulates ATP production, aiding in cellular repair and wound healing.

Injury or Disease rehabilitation

Physiotherapy helps reduce pain, improve movement, and restore muscle function in your pet. Working alongside your vet, veterinary physiotherapy provides a drug-free approach to supplement and enhance medical care for optimal recovery and well-being

Kinsiology Taping

A rehabilitative technique that supports the body's natural healing process through soft tissue manipulation. This thin, flexible tape applies pressure and stretch to stimulate muscles, reduce pain, and decrease inflammation by interacting with the central nervous system (CNS).

Key Benefits:

  • Pain relief & inflammation reduction
  • Joint & muscle support
  • Enhanced lymphatic drainage – by lifting the skin, it promotes fluid flow, helping to remove waste from tissues

This technique aids in mobility, recovery, and overall well-being.

Manual Therapies

Manual therapy focuses on manipulation, mobilisation, and massage to improve tissue and joint function. Common techniques include:

  • Massage (Effleurage, Petrissage, Tapotement)
  • Myofascial Release (hand techniques & manual tools)
  • Joint & Soft Tissue Mobilization
  • Trigger Point Release
  • Stretching
  • Thermotherapy

These methods help reduce pain, improve mobility, and enhance overall function

Exercise Prescription

After each session, your Veterinary Physiotherapist will provide tailored at-home exercises to maintain progress and optimize results. These exercises will be demonstrated with resources if needed, ensuring owners feel confident carrying them out independently.

If you have any questions after your session, Amy is available during work hours to assist. For emergencies, please contact your vet.

Common Exercise Prescriptions Include:

  • Stretching
  • Walking exercises
  • Using stairs or home environments
  • Pole & schooling exercises
  • Referral to other professionals (vet, behaviorist, saddler, farrier, dentist)

These exercises help enhance mobility, strength, and recovery, ensuring the best possible quality of life and performance for your animal.
